If USA has 5% of the global population and 25% of people incarcerated globally, there is something horribly wrong with the system.

The outsourcing of functions of penitentiaries to big business means that the business model only works if there are inmates. And if I understand that there are no financial limits for lobbying politicians then the politicians are at the beck and call of big business and politicians will drive the agenda.

Would think to take service in house at the prisons and suddenly there is no incentive for big business and this reduces the power of the politicians who are then no longer funded. Just a thought. 

There must be a smarter way!
